Alexander Update
Alexander update! He is a busy busy boy! He is already cruising the furniture and walking behind the little walkers. He may look like James but his personality is blooming...He really wants to keep up with his big brother so he may only be 9 months old but he is on the move.

Thanksgiving 2007

Since my work schedule has been so busy, I am taking this opportunity to update the site.
Since I had to work on Thanksgiving, and I love to cook, we celebrated on Saturday. It was also a tree-trimming party. Unfortunately, I did not get to participate in the decorating but I did enjoy cooking.
I have learned, though, that I can only cook food for about 25 people (who can eat more than one serving :-). {Also, no one (except Kelly, Jim and myself) likes Brussel sprouts}
Mike, Kelly, Jesse, Max and Emmy were here. Along with Roland (in the pink scarf), Missy and Bryana.
We continued to eat left overs for the next 1.5 weeks! This actually worked out well since I was on call and at least there was food in the house.
The next update will have some more photos of the kids on it. Alexander is cruising the furniture now trying to keep up with his big brother. James is looking forward to Santa's arrival. He has made his list and keeps going through the magazines and circling everything he wants.
Halloween
Alexander fell asleep about half-way through trick-or-treating in the community, but James was really enjoying getting the candy!
We had the creepiest decorations in the neighborhood again!
Mommy even got to take the boys out trick or treating while Daddy stayed home to hand out the candy.

Weekend Update
Hello all!
Just a quick update on the Nicholson clan. We have been very busy this weekend.
Jim and I had our 7 year Anniversary dinner (a few days late) on Thursday. It was a great night. We went to a place called Copa and had a different wine with each course. We met some people who live in the area. All the people who signed up for the tasting sat at a big table together to support meeting new people. So we did not get the personal romantic evening, but we did have good food and a night out together.
Friday night, I had a work party to go to so Jim stayed home with the boys. The mosquitos were biting so I came home and took some benedryl.
Saturday, was the typical morning with Gymboree, Jim took James to the gym, naptime and then the fellow farewell party. James had a great time with the inflatable they had there. Jim played basketball some fellows and staff. I guess he did okay but my career is up the creek. Jim ripped my big bosses shirt while on defense :-). We will see when the time for assignments comes up.
Today, Sunday, we spent the day measuring out exactly where the new play-system will go in the backyard. Then scurried off to yet another party. This time it was a birthday party for a 4 year old. James had a blast! It was at My Little Gym and he did forward rolls, jumped, played and walked across the balance beam without help! Unfortunately, we forgot the camera so I don't have any pics of that. Alexander did well and was extraordinarily cute all day.
Tomorrow, starts yet another long week at work. Wish I could stay home with the boys and play.
Oh well, off to bed. Hope to hear from you all soon!

Memorial Day Weekend
Well, we tried to go golfing today...Leave it to San Antonio to rain (hard)! We tried and managed to get 2.5 holes in, but then it started to lightning and pour rain. We were soaked by the time we made it back to the clubhouse. Thankfully, I wore dark clothes
!
Anyway, Shelley and her beau, Jeff were here for a very short visit! Leave it to Shelley to call me the day before she arrives to call and let us know! It was a blast, James was upset when "Jelly" & Jeff left today
.
Alexander had his 2 month visit this week. He is 12.2 lbs and 23.5 inches! He is very healthy and tolerated his shots like a champ. He is smiling and cooing like a champ! He is enjoying lots of tummy time and just like James he looks best in dark blue! He is also charming the daycare workers (also just like James).
On May 15th our neighbors Erik and Stacie had their twins, Deegan and Kenna, very cute kids. We are looking forward to Alexander, Deegan and Kenna being best of friends.

Back At Work
Well, I know I haven't updated in awhile, but I think it was a little bit depression and a little bit of stress. Anyway, I went back to work on May 3
! Overall, things have been good. I have left 15-20 min "early" every day, but since I had a talk to give yesterday I had to do work at home as well. At least I was with my boys. Going back to work has been somewhat easier this time around. Most likely since I do not have the weight of deployment looming for the next 2 years. Also, I know James did well at daycare so hopefully Alexander will do the same.
Work is good, feel like I never left except the pile of work is bigger! At least everyone is being nice for now! Enough about me.
Alexander is doing great! He is getting bigger by the day! He is so cute and is gaining personality. James is a wonderful big brother and so helpful. Of course, he has his moments as well. The other day he had his first REAL blown out tantrum. He ended up in bed early (6:45 pm) because of it. I know you are all thinking NOT JAMES! but yes he just would not listen so....now he listens!
I hope that no one is feeling hurt about not receiving an announcement, but please know I have not sent out ANY announcements yet! So be patient I am working on them! As I said earlier I went back to work and I don't even have any photos of Alexander at work yet! Boy I feel like a horrible mom! (especially since my patients and co-workers have been asking about them). I have a ton of photos but I have not printed them yet! So part of my job this weekend is to send some announcements and print photos to take to work.
Ok Alexander calls! and I need to work out at some point today (gotta lose that baby weight Army is already asking for a weigh in!) LOVE IT! I promise to update this more frequently.

Happy Easter!
Sorry for the size of the photo! I need to change the settings on my camera! I thought this was just too cute (Reminiscent of "The Christmas Story"
).
I hope everyone had a great Easter.
We did not do too much just did the classic jellybean trail for James and indoor Easter egg hunt (only 6 eggs as he lost interest after 5, typical attention span of a 3 year old!) Later in the afternoon, we went over to our neighbors Roland and Missy for a very nice gathering.
James managed to eat a TON of candy thanks to his dad! Alexander got his thanks to his mommy
!
Alexander is now 3 weeks old and my maternity leave is half over
! He is starting to get his days and nights a little more straightened out, but he likes a 0430 feeding which will suck since I get up at 0500 most days I work. I guess if I can get used to it now it will make things easier later. (Maybe once he has stopped the 0430 feeding I will still get up and work out---HAHAHA!!)
I should go do some reading for work while Alexander is sleeping.

Two Week Update
Yesterday we had Alexander's 2 week (actually 16 day) check up!
He is definitely less yellow and eating well! He was 9 lb 0.4 oz and 21.5 inches long!
That's over one pound of growth (if you include his weight loss to 7lb 12 oz) and one inch in length since birth!
Since the last update, Aunt Kristin was here and almost missed her flight to Atlanta from staring at the little guy! (This is a true statement..she got to the airport 15 min prior to her flight departure, my nerves were horrible). James took his suitcase to the car thinking that he would get to go on the plane with Aunt Kristin.
Dad and Clara arrived last Thursday via private plane with their friends Erlene and Roger. Unfortunately, their visit was short and seemed to be over before it started. Dad and Jim played the Tiger Woods golf game on the Wii until all hours of the night. Dad got his butt spanked even playing as Tiger Woods
! Clara and I took walks every day with the boys which was very nice! James got to go in the hot tub with Dad and Clara and had lots of fun! We all went to Gymboree on Saturday but I think that James was a little too active for Dad and Clara to keep up with during it. Although the room is not very big he gets around really quickly. He is really missing having all his relatives around.
Jim is back at work this week and James is at daycare. Both will be off next week so we can spend some quality family time together. I am doing well! I don't think I would do well with James at home at the same time (by myself) as Alexander. Alexander likes to eat for long periods and James wants attention so it makes me appreciate daycare so much more. I wonder how I would actually deal with being a stay-at-home mom without the daycare back up!
Well, not much else going on.

We Are Home
Hello everyone! I figured I would give this blog thing a try.
Alexander and I are doing well. I cannot believe how much better I am doing this post c-section vs with James. I was walking around on Monday and feeling stronger each day. I still have some pain but overall able to function (at a slower pace than my normal).
James is an amazing big brother! He wants to help take care of Alexander. He gives him unsolicited hugs and kisses! He comes down every morning and wants to see him and give him a kiss. It is really nice to see.
Well that's about all I have to say today, but I will try to keep this posted frequently!
